Wet Scrubber Units are effective air pollution control systems used to remove particles and / or unwanted harmful chemicals in industrial exhaust gases. The flue gas entering a vertical cylindrical washing tower from the lower part moves upward from the filling bed located in the middle of the tower, which is used to increase the contact surface, and reacts by encountering special solutions at the top of the tower, which are sprayed downwards with spray nozzles. Thus, acidic gases that both react with the chemicals in the solution and fall below the dew point due to cooling, condense and settle to the bottom in liquid and / or solid form. The flue gas continues on its way, leaving the top of the washing tower cleanly.
As BETA Filter, we design Wet Scrubber Units especially to keep acidic chemicals in aggressive flue gases caused by combustion. These acidic gases that harm nature and human health when released into the atmosphere are mainly SO2, HF and HCl. The solution used for holding these gases is specially selected and prepared for each process by BETA Filter as a result of analysis.
Wet Scrubber Units are the most expensive among the methods used to reduce acidic gas emissions, both in terms of operation and investment costs. Another disadvantage is that it reduces the flue gas pressure too much and causes the ID fan capacity to increase. However, despite all these disadvantages, they are the units that offer the most effective and definitive solution in acidic gas emission reduction. Especially dry flue gas reduces acid emissions that cannot be reduced by desulphurization processes up to 99.99%.
