In industrial facilities, the transportation of solid powder or granule-sized materials between processes is done by many methods. The order from the most primitive to the most developed is as follows; manpower, human + wheeled transport elements, wheeled + motorized transport vehicles, mechanical screw conveyors, conveyor belts, conveyors and pneumatic conveying lines.

The most advanced and advantageous of these methods is pneumatic conveying systems. This system is the principle of transporting granular solid materials in the pipeline with compressed air flow. Pneumatic conveying is done in 2 ways: dilute phase and dense phase. In dilute phase transfer, the air flow rate (hence the velocity) is high while the pressure is low. In the dense phase, velocity is low and pressure is high.

Dense phase transport systems advantages;

  • No material loss,
  • The property of the material does not deteriorate, homogeneity, density, particle size, etc.
  • It needs minimal area. It saves area,
  • It is a completely isolated system,
  • Since the transfer path is pipelines, it is suitable for flexibility in its route,
  • Due to the lack of moving equipment, breakdown and maintenance costs are minimal,
  • Being fully automatic minimizes personnel requirement,
  • Lack of rotating equipment eliminates the risk of sparks and / or worker limb accidents,
  • Investment cost (especially over long distances) is very low,
  • The operating cost is at the minimum level and the system is the most ready-to-use system.
